Where is Little Cloud right now?
This map shows our live position, updated as we sail. Around us you can see the real wind, check the weather forecast, and even switch to a satellite view to peek at the anchorage.
How to use the map
- The boat symbol is us. It shows our last known position, with the time of the update in the banner at the top. The line behind it is our route: every dot is a past position, often with a little note from on board.
- Our speed and course. The top banner shows the boat's speed, the course we're steering, and the wind measured on board.
- The live wind. The moving streaks across the map are the real wind, right now: the faster they flow, the harder it blows, and the colours show the strength.
- The weather forecast. The layers button on the map opens the ECMWF forecast: wind, gusts, waves and rain over the coming days. It's the same forecast we use on board to decide when to sail.
- Satellite view. In the same options you can switch the map to satellite photos and zoom right down to the anchorage.
- Moving around: scroll or pinch to zoom, click and drag to pan. You can't break anything: worst case, reload the page.
